This is actually a creative and a technical part of the post-production process of filmmaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Editing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Film editing serves two main purposes: shaping the story and influencing the audience&#8217;s experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shaping the Story:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Putting the Pieces Together:<\/strong> Imagine a film as a giant puzzle. We capture tons of footages during the production, but it is not in the right order for a clear story. It assembles the pieces (shots) into scenes and sequences, creating a coherent narrative that flows from beginning to end.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Crafting Pacing and Rhythm:<\/strong> It controls how fast or slow the story unfolds. Short, quick cuts can create a fast-paced, action-packed scene. Long, lingering shots can build suspense or emphasize emotional moments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Influencing the Audience&#8217;s Experienc<\/strong>e<strong>:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Emotional Impact:<\/strong> &#8220;Editors can use techniques to evoke specific emotions from viewers. Slow motion can heighten a dramatic moment. Music and sound effects are also incorporated to further enhance the emotional impact in this process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Directing Attention:<\/strong> By choosing what shots to show and for how long, editors guide the audience&#8217;s focus.
