IMPPA (Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association) is the first and the only internationally recognized oldest association of the Indian Film production sector. It is the original mother organisation and all other associations which exist now are the offshoots of IMPPA.
Why Film Producer Association Membership Required
Film Producer Association (IMPAA) is responsible to register your film title for bollywood and regional cinema and protect the rights of registered title on behalf of you. No body can use that title you without your written permission.
IMPAA is also responsible for your banner registration and film title registration to protect the duplication of the same.
- I am explaining the same with an example like our banner name is “Yuva Cinema” registered with IMPPA. Now no any individual or organisation can register their banner with the name “Yuva Cinema”.
- If someone is not a member of IMPPA or any other producer association and want to release a film in theatre worldwide, they need to apply for Censor Certificate. We need to register a banner and film title before applying for a censor certificate.
- Censor certificate is required to release a feature film in theatres worldwide so a banner and title should be registered with producer’s association before applying for censor certificate otherwise censor board will reject the application.
Note: All the producers association are interconnected and share a common database to register a banner name, new film title name registration and title renew.
